Medial Axis Based Routing Has Constant Load Balancing Factor

چکیده
Load balanced routing is a long standing yet challenging problem. Despite many years’ of work there is still a gap between theoretical research and practical algorithms. The main contribution in this paper is to bridge the gap and provide rigorous analysis of a practically interesting algorithm for routing in a large scale sensor network of complex shape – routing by using the medial axis of the network. In this algorithm, a skeleton of the network is extracted such that a virtual coordinate system can be developed for greedy routing achieving good load balance in simulations. We show for the first time a constant approximation factor for this algorithm by a highly technical analysis. The analysis explains the performance observed in previous simulations and is also the first known constant approximation algorithm for load balanced routing in a sensor network with nontrivial geometry.

Routing in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is the challenging issue because of their dynamic topology. The multipath routing are definitely providing the reliable communication and mechanism of alternate path if first break but effective load balancing has a demanding task in MANET due to their dynamic and un-predictable nature. متن کاملLoad Balancing Routing with Bounded Stretch
Routing in wireless networks has been heavily studied in the last decade. Many routing protocols are based on classic shortest path algorithms. However, shortest path-based routing protocols suffer from uneven load distribution in the network, such as crowed center effect where the center nodes have more load than the nodes in the periphery. Aiming to balance the load, we propose a novel routin...

We show in this paper that de Bruijn networks, despite providing efficient search while using constant routing table size, as well as simplicity of the understanding and implementation of such networks, are unsuitable where key distribution will be uneven, a realistic scenario for most practical applications. In presence of arbitrarily skewed data distribution, it has only recently been shown t...

Designing an effective load balancing algorithm is difficult due to Dynamic topology of MANET. To address the problem, a load balancing routing algorithm namely Modified Termite Algorithm (MTA) has been developed based on ant’s food foraging behavior. Stability of the link is determined based on node stability factor ‘∆’. The stability factor “∆ “of the node is the ratio defined between the “he...
